Buddygrove creature preview: Pebblepip, Sproutkin and Cinderbun
Creature preview render. This is not an in-game screenshot.

Explore

Pebblepip

A purple mole designed to help you locate nearby loaded diamond ore. A discovery companion, not an automatic mining machine.

Grow

Sproutkin

A green garden helper designed to advance wheat, carrots and potatoes by one growth stage.

Adventure

Cinderbun

An apricot rabbit designed to offer a short Resistance boost when nearby monsters make things interesting.

The build

A small world, with room to grow.

The prototype is packaged as a Minecraft Bedrock add-on (.mcaddon) targeting version 1.21.90 or later. The intended loop is simple: hatch a buddy, tame it with an apple, then explore its personality and ability.

Packaging and automated checks have passed. In-game behavior, multiplayer, controller input and save/reload still need hands-on verification. This is not a released Marketplace product.

Playtest checklist

One new world. Three new friends.

  1. On a Windows PC, open Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock). Java Edition on macOS does not load this package.
  2. Open the Buddygrove .mcaddon test file and wait for Minecraft’s successful import message.
  3. Create a fresh Creative test world. Activate both Buddygrove resource and behavior packs; keep experiments off.
  4. Search the Creative inventory for “Hatch Egg”, place one of each buddy, then use an apple to tame it.
  5. Test follow/stay, rename, feeding and each ability. Save, quit and reopen to check that your buddies and progress remain.
  6. Capture screenshots and a short video. Record the Minecraft version, what you expected and what happened before trying multiplayer or controller play.

Use a disposable test world for the first run. Keep your original package as a backup. The MacBook can organize files, edit recordings and maintain this catalogue.
